Oil seals and radial shaft seals for retaining lubricants and excluding contaminants from rotating machinery.
Radial shaft seals form a barrier between a rotating shaft and a stationary housing. Their primary jobs are to retain lubricant and/or exclude dirt, dust and other contaminants. Lip material, spring design, shaft speed, temperature, pressure, lubricant and counterface condition all affect seal selection and service life.
Selection note: Final gasket/seal material should be confirmed against media, operating temperature, pressure, flange condition, bolt load and applicable standard.
